Fact Checkers - those Great Purveyors of Truth

Beverly says: "I would love to see a bar under the candidates with the fact checkers score with each statement made by the candidates. Something like"liar, liar, pants on fire." Or "he might could do that."

It's bogus. The only difference with fact checkers is that they build themselves up as the great purveyors of truth, but like any news organization, they will have their bias as well. It's a way for liberals to pretend they have credibility, since the concept started as a hit job methodology. Of course we'll call every Republican a liar if it wins us more votes, just look at our history. But what if it wasn't us but a "fact checking organization" doing it? Now we sound credible.

I'd rather trust a person's track record. Every opponent Obama/Axelrod have faced has fallen under the same hit job approach. Desperate to pry open sealed divorce records, they use any means necessary... media hysteria is a good one, whatever it takes. Romney, being monogamous, requires a different approach. Tax records - we demand to see them. What is he hiding? Bain capital? How uncaring! How many times can we as Americans allow this same formulaic nonsense to pull the wool over our eyes? It's like Weekend at Bernie's Part 7, or rather The Godfather part VIII.

Romney has integrity, success, and a long track record of caring for people, improving their lives, raising a family, and public service. Those are the facts I care about.
It’s almost like a serial killer’s signature. Unsealed personal records have been released to the press. Obama must be running for office!
So you can see what a pickle the Obama campaign is in having to run against a Dudley Do-Right, non-drinking, non-smoking, God-fearing, happily married Mormon.

I Will Not Read, I Will Not Listen, I Promise

ABC News to its writers: Folks, this election is about ignoring all of Romney's successes, kindness and generosity, and ignoring all of Obama's failures, selfishness and narcissism. Let's get 8 more stories done about "the 47%" this week, and not Bain anymore since that backfired. I'm tired of hearing about all of the jobs Romney actually saved AND created. Focus on important words such as outsourced. If you can do a story combining the words 47% and outsourced, there will be a bonus for you. Now let's go! Oh, and don't forget to pre-write your templates of "Romney's embarrassing gaffes at the debate," so once it's over you can just fill in the blanks.

Okay, folks, before you go, do repeat the oath after me:

I do solemnly swear to focus only on the audio snippets of Romney that government-approved media (that includes us!), and our party dictate, such as 47%, because whatever he meant by that, I am quite sure that more than 47% would never vote for him, so he was inaccurate. And I will waste no energy thinking about how Romney has been successful rebuilding businesses and is a creative entrepreneur and has been generous in a freakish way (it's just not right to earn and give away so much money). Yeah sure, he gave away literally millions of dollars every year for the last 20 years (just gave it away to charity!) but no matter. He did mention 47% in a meeting with "donors." For all we know they're also busy secretly giving away money to charity too! Millions of dollars given away to who knows what charity? Why the secrecy?

I also do solemnly swear not to focus on the different ways Obama's pursuits seem to have failed at every step. The economy continues to fail under him. He didn't show up to vote much while in the Senate even during what he has labeled the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. He didn't show up for intelligence briefings while the Middle East was(is) in flames. I am Democrat, hear me roar. I can blank out large portions of factual information and focus in, only on what is set before me. I can have Ann Coulter on my show as a guest, and not read even portions of her book Mugged, knowing that since I am black and she is not, the case is closed. Say no more! I will not watch any news program that may show Obama in a negative light. Fox news has purportedly played speeches by Obama saying one thing in 2012, and on the same show speeches of Obama saying the exact opposite during the 2007 campaign! This is sneaky, backhanded, and should not be allowed. I do solemnly swear to not listen to Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Karl Rove <* ewww snarl *>, and especially not any words coming out of Dick Cheney <* double snarl *>. And I agree not to read books such as Ameritopia, Demonic, Liberal Fascism, The Forgotten Man, and especially not Mugged. I will not read them, Sam I Am.

Creative Writing Under Obama

It has been a great season for creative writers in the political realm. Today's US NEWS Headline:
Why a Rising Unemployment Rate is Good News is a good example of how Democrats have been tap dancing for over a year now explaining to us why spending is necessary. Why unemployment would've been worse, and how it's Bush's fault anyway. Imagine where we'd be without Barack. In the story In Search of an Adjective we visited a little bit of how creative these writers can get, as they seek to label, somehow, the enormity of electing a white person into the Presidency. Or, wait a minute. Is he black? Who decides that? Is there some magic skin ratio formula used to decide who gets the affirmative action goodies? (h/t Steve Sailer)

But it has been a season for creative liberal writers, and for thinking on your feet among liberal guests on cable. The best strategy seems to be to mention that a Republican seemed to agree, therefore... "Well, Lindsey Graham yada yada, therefore how can you say that?"

Is it fair to say that these creative writing jobs are saved jobs? Although isn't the term du jour preserved? Good to know that the Daily Show wrote some stand up material for BHO's performance at the Correspondent's dinner, but one has to wonder if they're not also writing his speeches, because they are a joke! Obama's speeches as of late sound much more J. Stewartesque than they do presidential. Bash the Republicans, Fox, Palin, Wall Street, BP, coal miners, banks... pretty much anyone that lives in the world of factual information. And how about Gibbs misquoting FOX repeatedly re: the oil spill? "They said we did it on purpose. Yes they did. Yes they did." No, but they may have said you put it in your ignore pile until it was too late. They may have said that, and when I say they, I mean the former FEMA Director,  Michael Brown. Any story on that will inevitably digress over to Katrina bashing. Another creative strategy of avoidance.

By the way, I started writing this story BEFORE Rush Limbaugh brought it up, and before I realized Obama was actually using these 9.9% unemployment figures to celebrate. But it's good to know I was in the right zone. Let we wrap by saying how disappointed I'd be if the unemployment rate had dipped to 6%, or any similar Bush-era number. How can you build an historic crisis agenda around numbers like that? No, 9.9% is a really good number, and heightens my creative juices.

Ann Coulter Captioned by CNN

funny - I posted an old story today I wrote under the name Typical White Person called Extreme Advertising that was about an Ann Coulter controversy that originated in 2007. And looking over the CNN story that covered the whole thing, I saw that they described Coulter like this:

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter has been widely criticized for calling presidential candidate John Edwards a 'faggot.'

That's how they described her. Not bestselling author, not popular commentator, mind you. CNN that bastion of fairness.  That story was from 2007, and I don't know about you, but I'd say that since then Edwards has been called a lot worse. I'd have to say that Coulter was some kind of oracle to have that kind of insight into Edwards future personality, but at the time "she was widely criticized." FLASHFORWARD 2010 he also lied about the child. Now this guy was a Democrat on the ticket for Vice President of the United States. But all you hear about is PALIN, PALIN, PALIN in a negative fashion of course. Stories such as this where CNN leaves a comment on their respectable journal calling Palin an ignorant twit. No way to edit those pesky comments I guess.

At least Edwards earned it.

Cool thing was AnnCoulter.com linked to my Extreme Advertising article from her front page and left it there for over a month. Thanks Ann, popular commentator and bestselling author. I dug getting the additional traffic. American Sentinel was shut down because some guy living on a yacht in DC claimed ownership of the name. But what was once TWP is now Soo Do-nim. Although I'm still a *typical white person.

Speaking of which here are a couple of campaign slogans I'm willing to share with the Democrat Party:

Keep Racism Alive!
Join the Democrat party, where we still care (VERY much)
about the color of your skin.

or

Join the Democrat Party, where you're not an American,
you're a hyphenated-American.

That's on the house, no extra charge.

*This was my TWP bio back then:
My journal's name TWP was inspired by Barack Obama's grandmother whom he referred to as a typical white person during his attempt to explain why he'd portrayed her as a racist during a speech designed to explain his 20-year relationship with Rev. Wright. During his campaign he needed to prove he was more 'down with black folk' than Hillary Clinton, whose phony gospel accent wasn't playing well to audiences in Selma. Seems like it worked as Obama carried 96% of the black vote in November. How many half-blacks voted for him is TBD.

The Right Wing Force Field

I keep waiting for someone to say this but I haven't heard it yet, so... you heard it here first: the left is trying to brand tea parties as racists and vitriolic etc. not to hurt their feelings... tea party folks all know they're not racists and that it's bunk. But it's more to scare potential Democrats, Independents, and yes black people, away from joining up, or even listening.

Same tactics used to scare people away from actually hearing the message of Rush, or Fox News, or Glenn, et al. Very important to scare people away from these messages of sanity. Because if your trusted CNN tells you to avoid El Rushbo and FOX, then you'll stay far away. Hey, Democrats: you're being played. Funny how the "open minded ones" become completely shut down at the mention of a right wing movement of which they've only seen clips from an MSNBC type angle. Just try mentioning El Rushbo or Mark Levin or Glenn Beck to a devoted Democrat to witness the phenomenon.

Coakley Polls

Main Stream Media Spin alert: if Scott Brown wins tonight, be assured that it'll be all about how Martha Coakley ran a poor race... in fact it has already been set up that way, despite the fact that her liberal speech is indistinguishable from any other Democrat in the Senate. And it will not have anything to do with Scott Brown and his talent in winning the debate and connecting with the actual people he hopes to represent.

Amazing but true, the media misses the mark in Boston. However, one can't forget the old "this election was stolen" angle. In case of a loss, don't accept the results.
“We have seen a number of disturbing incidents this evening that have called into question the integrity of this election,” Coakley campaign manager Kevin Conroy said.
That'll take at least 6 weeks to sort out, eh? And then magically, Coakley, just like Pat Paulsen... er, Al Franken, will end up on top.

Let's be Fair - Conservatives should just shut up

The Fairness Doctrine. Sounds good, doesn't it? Just, fair, honest, balanced reporting of controversial issues, as decided by the FCC. FCC, PBS, WGN, FOX, NBC, WLS, CBS, EIB. Which acronyms don't belong in entertainment?

"And now, LIVE on the all new, ad-free FCC network, aka the FWYTD network (funded with your tax dollars), a fascinating look at today's news as filtered through your Federal Government." Boy, I don't want to miss that. C-SPAN stand back! This is going to be awesome!

If that's all it was, it would be just another avenue Democrats could use for propaganda, but when you start letting the FCC censor content, you have Socialism, and/or Communism. Case in point - China felt it could rewrite Barack Obama's inaugural speech LINK. That's what Communists do. North Korea told its people that they would have the 1988 Olympics, and the propaganda they launched (and bomb they planted) should not have been surprising. Media run by the State is not the media of the people. It's push media of the worst kind.

But we are actually looking towards media of the State here in the USA and it's being called FAIR. Hospitals, banks, schools ... heck, the State just needs to TAKE OVER because those big bad businesses just can't be trusted. That free market is just so hard to control, isn't it?

The Fairness Doctrine is a typical left-wing misuse of words to make something terrible sound so good. There are plenty of things about our political/electoral system that are not fair. Was it fair to take undocumented pre-paid credit card donations to pump up the donations to Obama's campaign? Was it fair to just leave off 2 major states (FLA and MI) from the Democratic Primaries? Is it fair to make a presidential campaign more about TV commercials, ad spending, and fund raising than any other factor? Is winner take all voting fair?

There's a lot that's not fair. Freedom of the press has not generally been thought of as one of them, although that ideal has since Watergate been used as the excuse the media can use to go after "the establishment" and Republicans, by and large, without disclosing sources. But now that conservative talk radio is popular as it breaks through a left-controlled mainstream media to tell an actual alternate vision and conservative philosophy, it's all about how unfair it is.

Who can trust a Federal government that spends money so greedily and recklessly? At least tigers peek up with their eyes on occasion as they rip into and devour their prey, but the now Democratic-controlled government doesn't even look up as it gorges itself on the taxpayers' money that's all theirs now, unchecked. We don't want these people telling us what's fair.
